Quest Book
Part 8: The Far Shore
Part 8 of the Nytheria quest book is the End: three chapters and 64 quests, from the hunt for the 16 End Remastered eyes to the Ender Dragon and the outer islands. See what to bring and what each chapter pays.
Part 8, The Far Shore, is the End part of the quest book. It has three chapters and 64 quests: the hunt for the End Remastered eyes in Sixteen Lanterns, the dragon and the first End structures in The Far Shore, and the outer islands in Past the Last Island. <!-- src: Q §1.2, §2.8 -->
The part opens when you complete Nine Days, Wearing It, the gate quest of Below the Bedrock in Part 7: The Listening Dark. That one quest opens all three chapters at once, so you can work on them side by side. Stores for the Dark, the capstone of Past the Last Island, is the gate that opens Part 9: The Stars. The other two chapters are not gates. <!-- src: Q §1.5, §2.8 -->
The book does not lock the End itself, only its own quests. What locks the End is the portal: see The End Portal & the 16 Eyes. <!-- src: Q §7; BM §4 -->

Sixteen Lanterns#
The first year she had nine. <!-- src: Q §1.2 -->
What you do#
This chapter is the eye hunt. It has 21 quests, 19 of them required: A List of Sixteen opens it, then one quest for each of the 16 eyes from
End Remastered [NeoForge/Fabric], then The Stair in the Floor, which asks you to follow a thrown eye to the stronghold. The capstone, The Nine She Lit, is completed by entering the End. <!-- src: Q §2.8; BM §4 -->
Each eye quest names the place, mob or action that yields its eye. Quest titles are simply the eye's name, such as The Old Eye or The Cryptic Eye. <!-- src: Q §2.8; data/quests.json titles -->
| Eye | Where it comes from |
|---|---|
| Old | Desert temple chests, 15 % per chest |
| Rogue | Jungle temple chests, 40 % |
| Nether | Nether fortress chests, 30 % |
| Cold | Igloo cellar chest, 70 % |
| Magical | Evoker drop, 5 %, or woodland mansion chests, 10 % |
| Black | Buried treasure, 30 % |
| Lost | Abandoned mineshaft chests, 20 % |
| Wither | Killing the Wither, two rolls at 90 % each |
| Guardian | Elder Guardian drop, 35 % |
| Cursed | Bastion treasure room, 70 % |
| Exotic | Crafted from coral, conduits, glow ink sacs and an Eye of Ender |
| Evil | Traded from a master-level cleric or a wandering trader |
| Undead | Crafted from an Undead Soul (a skeleton horse drop, 25 %) and other parts |
| Cryptic | Enchanting, about a 1 in 120 chance per enchant |
| Corrupted | Pillager outpost chests, 30 % |
| Witch | Witch Pupil (a witch drop, 10 %) plus an Eye of Ender |
The portal frame in the stronghold has 12 sockets, and any 12 of the 16 eyes fill it, so you do not need all 16 to enter the End. Vanilla Eyes of Ender can neither be used nor thrown, and a thrown End Remastered eye breaks 10 % of the time. <!-- src: BM §4 -->

The Far Shore#
A sky with no weather in it. <!-- src: Q §1.2 -->
What you do#
This is the dragon chapter. It has 19 quests, 15 of them required, and starts with No Wind There. Through the Floor sends you into the End, and The Towers First asks for 16 obsidian for the towers. Chorus wants chorus fruit. <!-- src: Q §2.8, §3.1 -->

After it, The Egg That Moves and Something It Breathed want the dragon egg and dragon's breath. <!-- src: Q §2.8; BM §3 -->
The second half tours the End. A Gateway is an End gateway, An Empty City an End city, and Boxes That Argue asks for 8 shulkers. A Ship With No Sea, A Castle on Nothing and The Spire are structures from
MES - Moog's End Structures. The capstone, Wings, wants elytra and 10,000 blocks flown. <!-- src: Q §2.8; data/quests.json titles -->

Past the Last Island#
She kept flying. That was always the problem. <!-- src: Q §1.2 -->
What you do#
This chapter covers the outer End, built from
BetterEnd: Remastered,
Nullscape and
AdventureZ. It has 24 quests, 22 of them required. It starts with There Is Always More, which also needs 1,000 blocks flown. <!-- src: Q §2.8, §3.1 -->
Most of the middle is biome by biome: The Fog Country, The Chorus Forest, The Megalake, The Shadow Forest, The Amber Land, Crystal Mountains, Dragon Graveyards and The Void Barrens, each with a matching item. A Village Out Here asks you to wait inside the End village; that task is optional. <!-- src: Q §2.8, §3.2 -->
Then the metals: A Hammer First, Thallasium, Terminite and Aeternium, with their anvils. A Rift and a dragon skeleton come from Nullscape, and The Eternal Crystal and Eternal Light are the way home through the Better End eternal portal. <!-- src: Q §2.8; W §1.3 End -->
Three bosses appear here. The Standing Stone is the Obsidilith, a Bosses of Mass Destruction boss in an End arena with 300 HP (config); Boss Ultimatum covers it. The Ruler Out Here is The Eye from AdventureZ, with 800 HP by the mod's code, summoned through a ritual with a dragon egg; Boss Ultimatum covers it too. The Depths asks for a kill of the Void Shadow. <!-- src: BM §2.2, §2.8, §2.10 -->
The capstone, Stores for the Dark, wants 32 foods, 64 firework rockets and 16 crystal shards. <!-- src: Q §2.8 -->
What to bring#
- Elytra and plenty of firework rockets: the outer islands are far apart. <!-- src: Q §2.8; W §1.3 End -->
- Food stocks for the capstone and for travel. <!-- src: Q §2.8 -->
- Gear for the End village and for The Eye. <!-- src: Q §2.8; BM §2.8 -->
Rewards#
- Nine Ashfall Cache rolls across the chapter, plus Lamplighter's and Traveller's rolls. <!-- src: Q §2.8 -->
- The capstone pays a soul lantern, a choice kit, Stores for the Crossing (16 dumplings, 4 shulker shells or 16 lanterns), an Ashfall Cache roll and 5 levels. <!-- src: Q §2.8, §4.4 -->
- Chapter totals: 63 XP levels and 3 embers, the largest chapter payout in the part. <!-- src: Q §2.0, §2.8 -->
Tips for this part#
- Items are never consumed by quests, so the same food or fireworks can finish more than one task. <!-- src: Q §5 -->
- Open each quest and click its rewards; nothing is claimed automatically, and each team member claims their own copy. <!-- src: Q §4.2 -->
- The eye quests are all required, but the portal itself only needs 12 eyes. Collect the easy ones first. <!-- src: Q §2.8; BM §4 -->
- Dragon Scales drop in numbers that rise with the number of players: at least 3, plus 2 per extra player, with an 80 % chance of extras. <!-- src: BM §2.1 -->
- Ember rewards go to your wallet in the journal. <!-- src: Q §6 -->
- Reward tables are explained on Rewards, Loot Caches & Choice Kits. <!-- src: Q §4.3 -->
