Dimensions
Eternal Starlight
Eternal Starlight is a night-sky dimension with 23 biomes, reached through the Portal Ruins with the Orb of Prophecy. Quick facts, its four boss-bar bosses, mobs, materials and quests.
Eternal Starlight is a night-sky dimension that you enter through a Portal Ruins structure in the Overworld, using the Orb of Prophecy. It is added by
Eternal Starlight 0.9.1, a native Fabric jar, and it is one of the nine dimensions of the pack (see Dimensions). It has more biomes than any other modded dimension: 23, plus four boss-bar bosses and a mini-boss. In the quest book it is Part 9, The Stars.

Eternal Starlight is one of only three dimensions where respawn anchors work, together with the Nether and the Astral Dimension. Beds work here too. See Death, Graves & Respawning for how this affects dying.
Getting there#
- Find a Portal Ruins. The ruins are structures in the Overworld in five variants: common, forest, desert, jungle and cold. Every variant uses the same spacing of 36 with a separation of 30. The Gatekeeper waits at the ruins.
- Craft the Orb of Prophecy. The recipe is five blue starlight crystal shards in a plus shape with four glass at the corners (glass, shard, glass / shard, shard, shard / glass, shard, glass).
- Use the frame. The frame block is Chiseled Voidstone. Use the Orb on it.
- Walk through.
The Gatekeeper is the boss that guards the way in. Beating him is part of the quest chapter, and his drops include an Orb of Prophecy and a seeking eye.
The pack's config keeps the portal shader on. It does not make you spawn or respawn in Eternal Starlight, and it does not give you the mod's guidebook at the start.
What you find#
Eternal Starlight has 23 biomes and 22 of them have mob spawners. It has 3 structures of its own that a world can place, plus the Portal Ruins in the Overworld (5 variants). The chapter Sky of a Million Stars names biomes such as the starlight forest, scarlet forest, dark swamp, permafrost forest, crystallised desert and the abyss, and the structures golem forge, cursed garden and stranghoul den.
Materials and gear#
The dimension adds 20 ore features, among them starlit diamond, deepsilver, malarite, saltpeter, dimslag and starcore. Its gear sets include deepsilver, glacite, starlit diamond, thermal springstone and unrealium armor, and a name scan finds about 50 weapons. The chapter Forge, Garden and Frost has six starting branches: thermal springstone, golem steel, glacite, flowglaze, crinoa and starlit diamonds.
Food#
A name scan finds 27 food-like items in the mod, such as the Jinglestem Sandwich, Lunar Berries, Bouldershroom Stew and Abyssal Fruit. The quest chapter asks for porridge, a bouldershroom stew and 16 foods.
Loot and travel#
The pack leaves the mod's loot chests on. Chests are per player, and Eternal Starlight loot tables are on the exclude list of the integrated loot, so they get no extra stacks. See Per-Player Loot. Wild waystones do not generate here. See Waystones.
Creatures and bosses#
The mod adds 33 mob types: 12 animals, 12 monsters, 2 golems (Aethersent and Grimstone), 2 NPCs (Boarwarf and Astral Golem) and 5 bosses. It has 17 own mob types in the biome spawner lists. Mob spawning is switched on for all of them, and the config has a spawn prevention range of 6. Examples: Aurora Deer, Starfire Bird, Crystallized Moth, Shimmer Lacewing, Thirst Walker, Boarwarf, Stranghoul, Ratlin, Yeti and Ent. According to an advancement text, you tame a Crystallized Moth with meat.
The bosses#
All hit points come from the mod's config. Four bosses have a boss bar (tier A) and one is a mini-boss (tier B). Bosses come back after 36,000 ticks, which is 30 minutes, because boss respawn is on. Boss Ultimatum does not cover this dimension.
| Boss | Tier | Where | HP (config) | Main drops | Quest |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| The Gatekeeper | A | Portal Ruins in the Overworld | 175 (armor 15) | Glistering weapons, Orb of Prophecy, seeking eye, disc | The Gatekeeper; Too Patient |
| Starlight Golem | A | Golem Forge boss room | 200 (armor 10) | Oxidized golem steel ingot, energy sword, forge trim template, disc | Ancient Wisdom; Too Large |
| Lunar Monstrosity | A | Lunar Monstrosity Spawner block (location not confirmed) | 200 (armor 12) | Tenacious petal, crescent spear, moonring bow, wand of teleportation, discs | Through the Thorns, Burn It Down; Too Many Thorns |
| Solar Creeper | A | No way to meet it found | 250 | None | - |
| Permafrost | B (no boss bar) | Golem Forge permafrost room | 120 (armor 10) | Coldsnap, frozen tube, oxidized golem steel nugget | Winter Is Leaving; Too Quiet |
The Gatekeeper, Starlight Golem and Lunar Monstrosity are the three you can actually meet. The Solar Creeper has a boss bar, but it has no spawn egg, no structure or spawner and an empty loot table. The Lunar Monstrosity is vulnerable when ignited, and one quest is called Burn It Down. The Lunar Monstrosity's exact location is not confirmed. See Bosses for the counting rule.
Planning your visit#
The three chapters of Part 9 open together, and the book runs in flexible mode: work you do early counts, and a quest completes once the ones before it are done. A sensible order follows the content. Do the ruins and the Gatekeeper first, because the Orb of Prophecy opens the door. Explore the biomes and fight the Starlight Golem, the Lunar Monstrosity and Permafrost next. Craft the gear chapter's items as you collect the materials. This is a route, not a rule.
Dangers and what to bring#
- Boss respawns. Bosses return after 30 minutes, so a boss room does not stay cleared.
- Armor on the bosses. The Gatekeeper has armor 15, the Lunar Monstrosity 12 and the Starlight Golem and Permafrost 10.
- Fire. The Lunar Monstrosity is vulnerable when ignited.
- Food. The capstone of Forge, Garden and Frost asks for 16 foods, so plan your food supply.
- Death. Beds and respawn anchors both work here.
In the quest book#
Part 9, The Stars, has three chapters and 64 quests. All three open together once you finish Stores for the Dark in Past the Last Island (Part 8). You can work on them side by side.
The Gate That Waits has 16 quests, 2 of them hidden, and starts with Six Times. You find the ruined portal frames in all five settings, meet the Gatekeeper and bring 4 chiseled voidstone, defeat him, and collect his tablet, the Orb of Prophecy and seeking eyes. The Gate Opens takes you in and pays a soul lantern, a Lamplighter's Cache roll, an Ashfall Cache roll, 6 XP levels and 2 embers. Two first biomes follow. The chapter totals 40 XP levels and 2 embers.
Sky of a Million Stars has 26 quests: 3 hidden, 2 optional and 21 required, starting with Forty-Six Years. It is the exploring chapter: standing still under the open sky, the ether river, deepsilver, biomes, structures and the Starlight Golem, the Lunar Monstrosity and Permafrost. The capstone, All of the Sky, asks for every one of 22 Starlight biomes and 3 seeking eyes, and pays paper, an Ashfall Cache roll, 6 XP levels and 1 ember. A choice kit, What to Carry Under Stars, gives 16 soul lanterns, 48 golden carrots or 64 firework rockets. The chapter totals 62 XP levels and 1 ember.
Forge, Garden and Frost has 22 quests, 4 of them hidden, and starts with Three Unfinished Things. It is the crafting chapter. The six branches lead to a hammer, a greatsword, glacite armor, a frozen bomb, a cold arrow, porridge, a starfire bird nest, a bouldershroom stew, aethersent ingots and a full unrealium set (Into the Unseen, 4 aethersent ingots, an Ashfall roll, 6 XP levels and 2 embers). The capstone, nearly, asks for 16 foods, a bouldershroom stew, 4 soul lanterns and a silver coin. It pays two Ashfall Cache rolls, 5 XP levels and 2 embers, and it opens the next chapter in Part 10. The chapter totals 47 XP levels and 4 embers.
In Titans of Nytheria, four optional quests cover the dimension's bosses. Read Part 9: The Stars for each chapter in detail.
Notes#
- The quest capstone asks for 22 Starlight biomes, while the biome count is 23 (22 of which have spawners). This page gives both numbers as the sources do.
- How you leave Eternal Starlight is not documented in the facts yet.
- Where the Lunar Monstrosity is found has not been confirmed.
