Nytheria has around 40 bosses with their own boss bar from ten mods, plus 15 mini-bosses. This page is the overview: who they are, where they live, how much health they have and which quest chapter (if any) asks for them. Each group of bosses has its own page with the fights in detail.
Overview#
The wiki counts bosses by one mechanical rule: a boss is an entity that shows a boss bar to nearby players. That gives exactly 40 bosses, called tier A on this page. The 15 mini-bosses (tier B) are named, single-spawn guardians that have no boss bar but that the pack or their mod treats as a boss. Together that is 55 entities. "Mini-boss" is this wiki's own label for tier B, not a term from the mods.
Tier B uses four signals: the entity sits in a boss list of the pack (Player Difficulty, Artifacts Remastered or Boss Ultimatum), a quest asks you to kill it or collect its drop, it is a boss-tagged trial-spawner mob of
Dungeons and Taverns, or it lives in Cataclysm's boss code package without a bar. Plain high-health mobs are not counted. Examples are the Astral Dimension's Amethyst Knight and Cataclysm's Wadjet.
Two of the 40 cannot be met in normal play. The Solar Creeper (Eternal Starlight) and the Void Shadow (AdventureZ) have no natural spawn that anyone found; only a spawn egg or a command brings them out. The other 38 have a way to meet them.
The count per mod is below. The ten sources are vanilla Minecraft and nine mods.

The mods behind it#
Adds eight tough bosses with their own structures and gear across the Overworld, Nether and End. It runs through the Sporran compatibility layer.
Adds the Twilight Forest, a dimension of enchanted woodland with 22 biomes, 21 structures and 8 bosses, entered through a flower-ringed pool of water.
Adds two magical dimensions, the Astral Dimension and Setback, with 18 biomes, 35 structures and bosses such as the Void Titan. It runs through the Sporran compatibility layer.
Adds four big bosses with their own arenas: the Night Lich, the Nether Gauntlet, the Obsidilith and the Void Blossom.
Adds Eternal Starlight, a dimension in permanent dusk with its own biomes, bosses, materials and gear, reached through the Portal Ruins.
Adds the Aether, a dimension of floating islands with its own materials, moas, accessories, three dungeons and three bosses.
Adds around two dozen new creatures to all three dimensions, including bosses like the Blackstone Golem and The Eye, a rideable dragon and new gear.
Expands the Deep Dark with new blocks, sculk creatures, Warden gear and the Otherside, a dark dimension reached through Ancient City portals.
Adds new illagers, illager structures in several biomes, the Imbuing Table, and new items such as the Lost Candle and the Horn of Sight.
Adds mobs from past Minecraft mob votes, such as the Copper Golem, Glare, Moobloom, Tuff Golem, Iceologer and Wildfire.
Adds vanilla-style structures such as taverns, firewatch towers, illager hideouts, Nether keeps and End castles, plus new enchantments.
Bosses that keep killing players heal back up: from the third player kill on, each kill resets the boss to half health, so throwing yourself at a boss does not work.
L_Ender's Cataclysm and the Astral Dimension are NeoForge mods. They run on Fabric through
Sporran, Navrelis's fork of Kilt, made by the Sporran Team. The Twilight Forest is a native Fabric port and does not use Sporran.
All bosses with a boss bar#
Sorted by source, then roughly by where you meet them. HP is "config" where the pack sets the number in a config file, "code" where it is the mod's built-in default (read from the mod, not from play), and "vanilla" for Minecraft's own values. The Ender Dragon's 600 HP is set by the pack's own data pack. The last column is the quest chapter that asks for the boss; "-" means no chapter does.

All mini-bosses#
Mini-bosses have no boss bar, so you only notice them by their name and their drops.
| Mini-boss | Source | Where | HP | Quest chapter |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Warden | Vanilla | Ancient Cities | 500 (vanilla) | The City That Listens |
| Elder Guardian | Vanilla | Ocean monuments | vanilla | Sixteen Lanterns |
| Permafrost | Eternal Starlight | Golem Forge, permafrost room | 120 (config) | Sky of a Million Stars |

| Piglin Beast | AdventureZ | Nether, triggered while mining gold or killing piglins | 80 (code) | - |
| Wildfire | Friends and Foes | Citadel in Nether biomes | 120 (code) | - |
| Phantom boss | Dungeons and Taverns | End Castle | 200 (spawner data) | - |
| Shulker boss | Dungeons and Taverns | End Castle | 90 (spawner data) | - |
| Shulker mini boss | Dungeons and Taverns | End Castle | 60 (spawner data) | - |
| Breeze boss | Dungeons and Taverns | Lone Citadel | 150 (spawner data) | - |
| Cave spider boss | Dungeons and Taverns | Toxic Lair | 200 (spawner data) | - |
| Elder guardian boss | Dungeons and Taverns | Trident Trials Monument | 160 (spawner data) | - |
| Ender Golem | L_Ender's Cataclysm | Ruined Citadel | - | - |
| Amethyst Crab | L_Ender's Cataclysm | Sunken City, Altar of Amethyst | 200 (structure data) | - |
| Ignited Revenant | L_Ender's Cataclysm | Burning Arena | - | - |
The six Dungeons and Taverns bosses are ordinary vanilla mobs. The structure gives them extra scale and health. The Elder Guardian's 80 HP is Minecraft's own value, so the table leaves it as "vanilla".
Boss Ultimatum#
Boss Ultimatum (Modpack Utils Series) punishes throwing yourself at the same boss again and again. It covers 15 bosses: the four Bosses of Mass Destruction bosses, the Ender Dragon, the Wither, the three Aether bosses, The Eye, the Blackstone Golem, the Soul Reaper, the Piglin Beast, the Stalker and the Invoker. It does not cover Cataclysm, the Twilight Forest, the Astral Dimension, Eternal Starlight, the Void Shadow, the Warden or the Elder Guardian.
Only kills the boss makes itself count (direct_kill). Falling, lava or other mobs do not add to the counter, and each boss counts for itself.
- From the third player it kills, every further player death restores the boss to half (50 %) of its maximum health. A second entry in the config applies the same rule on Hard difficulty.
- The Ender Dragon works differently: from the second player it kills, every further player death heals it by a flat 120 HP.
Getting ready#
Most boss fights are decided before they start. A few pack-wide systems matter for every boss.
- Fight difficulty is personal.
Player Difficulty scales monsters per player. At the cap, bosses get half of each effect: 1.75 times tougher and 1.5 times damage. The Ender Dragon is not scaled. See Difficulty and player scaling. - Armor survives a bad hit.
Armor Damage Limit stops one hit from removing more than 20 % of an armor piece's maximum durability. - A totem can sit in an accessory slot.
Charm of Undying (Fabric/Forge/Quilt) lets a Totem of Undying work from the charm slot instead of your hand. - Boss bars look different. The Enhanced Boss Bars resource pack (
Enhanced Boss Bars) is enabled by default. - Ability keys share one key. Cataclysm and Twilight Forest armour and items use H in the default pack, through the Polybind wheel. See Controls.
Dying is not the end. Your items wait in a grave at the place you died. See Death, graves and respawning.
In the quest book#
The quest book asks for some bosses and ignores others. Cataclysm, the Twilight Forest and the Astral Dimension have no quests at all. Their fights are optional challenges that the pack does not track.
Chapters that ask for bosses:
- The City That Listens asks for the Night Lich, the Void Blossom and the Warden. See Part 4: The Deep.
- Forge and Gauntlet asks for the Wither, the Blackstone Golem and the Gauntlet. See Part 5: The Burning Road.
- Three Locked Dungeons asks for the Slider, the Valkyrie Queen and the Sun Spirit. See Part 6: The Sky Above.
- Below the Bedrock asks for the Stalker. See Part 7: The Listening Dark.
- The Far Shore asks for the Ender Dragon, and Past the Last Island for the Obsidilith, The Eye and the Void Shadow. See Part 8: The Far Shore.
- The Gate That Waits asks for the Gatekeeper. Sky of a Million Stars asks for the Starlight Golem, the Lunar Monstrosity and Permafrost. See Part 9: The Stars.
Titans of Nytheria is a side chapter you can open any time after the first gate. It holds 16 optional "Too ..." quests, each asking for one boss drop and paying 4 XP levels. The capstone, An Honest List, needs only one of them. See Part 10: The Last Fires.
