Part 10, The Last Fires, is the last visible part of the quest book. It has two chapters and 35 quests. Titans of Nytheria is a side chapter that collects the drops of the bosses you meet along the way, and it holds 21 of the part's quests. The other 14 quests sit in a second chapter that opens near the end of the book. The book has an eleventh, hidden part that appears when you reach it. <!-- src: Q §1.2, §2.10 -->

Titans of Nytheria opens when you complete Under the Spruce, a quest in the prologue chapter One Leaf in Part 1: The Journal, so you can start it at any time after you find the journal. It is not a gate and it unlocks nothing. The second chapter opens when you complete nearly, the capstone of Forge, Garden and Frost in Part 9: The Stars. <!-- src: Q §1.5, §2.10 -->

The book uses flexible progression, so work you do early still counts and a quest only completes once the quests before it are done. See Chapter Gates & Book Order for the whole chain. <!-- src: Q §1.3 -->

What you do#

The chapter has 21 quests, and only two are required. It opens with An Accounting, which stays out of sight until Under the Spruce is done. <!-- src: Q §1.4, §2.10 -->

Sixteen optional quests each ask for the key drop of one boss, so the chapter doubles as a checklist of the boss fights in the book. Fifteen are titled Too ..., and the sixteenth, It Was Asleep, covers the Warden. You do not have to fight a boss again if you already hold its drop, because items are not consumed. <!-- src: Q §2.10, §5; data/quests.json titles -->

The Warden and Permafrost are mini-bosses without a boss bar; the other fourteen show a boss bar. <!-- src: BM §1, §2.1, §2.6 -->

The capstone, An Honest List, needs only one of the sixteen quests, plus a book, 2 ink sacs and a lectern. That is why a team can finish the chapter after a single boss. <!-- src: Q §1.4, §2.10 -->

What to bring#

  • The drops themselves: each quest holds an item, so keep every boss drop you collect on the way. <!-- src: Q §2.10, §5 -->
  • Gear for the fights you skipped earlier; see Bosses for where each one lives. <!-- src: BM §2 -->
  • A book, 2 ink sacs and a lectern for the capstone. <!-- src: Q §2.10 -->

Rewards#

  • Each of the 16 boss quests pays 4 XP levels and a keepsake copy of its key drop. <!-- src: Q §2.10, §4.5 -->
  • The capstone pays a writable book, two Ashfall Cache rolls, 6 levels and 1 ember. <!-- src: Q §2.10 -->
  • Chapter totals: 80 XP levels, the most of any chapter in the book, plus 1 ember and 2 Ashfall Cache rolls. <!-- src: Q §2.0, §2.10 -->

Tips for this part#

  • Do the boss quests as you go instead of saving them: each one is a small XP payout, and the drops are still in your inventory. <!-- src: Q §2.10 -->
  • You do not need all 16 drops. One is enough for the capstone, and the other quests only pay XP and keepsakes. <!-- src: Q §2.10 -->
  • Items are never consumed, and each team member claims their own rewards. <!-- src: Q §4.2, §5 -->
  • Ember rewards go to your wallet in the journal. <!-- src: Q §6 -->
  • The reward tables, including the Ashfall Cache, are described on Rewards, Loot Caches & Choice Kits. <!-- src: Q §4.3 -->
