Obscura's Omni Hopper
Navrelis' Omni Hopper: a faster hopper that can take items from any side and push them to any other side.
What it adds#
Obscura's Omni Hopper adds one block, the Omni Hopper. Unlike a vanilla hopper, its input and output can face any direction, which gives 30 possible input and output combinations. It moves items about 1.6 times faster than a vanilla hopper (5-tick cooldown instead of 8).
Getting started#
Craft it from three iron ingots, two diamonds and a chest. When you place it:
- the output points into the block face you clicked,
- the input faces away from your view direction (with an automatic fallback if both would be the same side).
Tips#
- Like a vanilla hopper, it stops when powered by redstone and works with comparators.
- It picks up dropped items in front of its input side.
- It can be waterlogged, which helps in water-based item sorters.
- Use it to move items sideways or upward without long hopper chains.
- For larger storage networks, combine it with
Obscura's Simple Storage.
