Sophisticated Backpacks (Unofficial Fabric port)

What it adds#

Sophisticated Backpacks adds backpacks in six tiers: Backpack (leather), Copper, Iron, Gold, Diamond and Netherite. Higher tiers have more slots and more upgrade slots. Upgrades include:

• Pickup, Magnet, Filter, Void, Deposit, Restock and Refill for item handling,
• Feeding (eats food from the backpack when you are hungry),
• Smelting, Smoking and Blasting (also automatic versions), Crafting, Stonecutter, Smithing and Anvil,
• Compacting, Stack upgrades and downgrades,
• Tool Swapper, Tank, Pump, Experience Pump, Battery, Jukebox, Everlasting and Inception (backpacks inside backpacks),
• workbench upgrades for Chipped.

Most upgrades also have an advanced version with more options.

Getting started#

1. Craft a basic backpack.
2. Wear it in the chest armor slot, or hold it, and open it with the Open Backpack key (B by default) or by right-clicking.
3. Craft an Upgrade Base and turn it into your first upgrade, for example Pickup or Magnet.
4. Upgrade the backpack to a higher tier later; its contents stay inside.

Tips#

• B is also the key of the wireless terminal from Obscura's Simple Storage. If both react, Polybind offers a wheel.
• The Feeding and Magnet upgrades are among the most useful early upgrades.
• Backpacks can appear in loot chests in Nytheria.
• Effortless Building: Sophisticated (Enhanced Fork) adds Building Upgrades that let you build straight from your backpack.
