Dimensions
The Nether
The Nether in Nytheria uses an obsidian portal and the BetterX generator, with 35 biomes, 150 structures and bosses such as the Nether Gauntlet, Ignis and the Netherite Monstrosity.
You enter the Nether through a normal obsidian portal, but the world on the other side comes from Better Nether Remastered, Incendium and Eternal Nether, not from Vanilla generation. It belongs to the Dimensions overview and has two chapters in the quest book.

Getting there#
The recipe is the Vanilla one: a frame of obsidian, lit with flint and steel. The quest Obsidian and Nerve asks for ten obsidian, and Through asks you to light it and walk in. The book does not lock the dimension, so you can open the portal at any time.
How the Nether is built#
The Nether uses the BetterX generator from
WorldWeaver: Remastered. It takes biomes from
BetterNether: Remastered and
Incendium and adds
Eternal Nether on top. The Vanilla Nether biomes still appear, with a region weight of 10, and
TerraBlender (Fabric) sets the Nether region size to 2. Every Better Nether spawn rate in the pack is 1.0, so nothing is scaled up or down.
What you find#
Biomes#
The Nether has 35 biomes that can generate in a fresh world: 5 from Vanilla and 30 from mods. Better Nether Remastered supplies 22 and Incendium 8.
| Source | Biomes | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Vanilla | 5 | Nether wastes, crimson forest, warped forest, soul sand valley, basalt deltas |
| Better Nether Remastered | 22 | Includes edge and cleared variants; spawner lists carry the Naga, Firefly, Skull and Hydrogen Jellyfish |
| Incendium | 8 | Added to the Better Nether biome source through the Nether biome tag |
Better Nether's creatures are not spread evenly. The Naga appears in 18 of its 22 biomes, the Firefly, Skull and Hydrogen Jellyfish in all 22, the Flying Pig in 4 and the Jungle Skeleton in 1.
Quest tasks name some of them: the Nether grasslands, the gravel desert and the Nether jungle, together with structures such as the fortress, the forbidden castle and the sanctum. The soul sand valley is where AdventureZ's Soul Reaper rides a Nightmare.
Structures#
A world can place 150 structures in the Nether. The biggest contributors are
MNS - Moog's Nether Structures (52),
Repurposed Structures (Fabric) (25),
AdoraBuild: Structures (16),
Dungeons and Taverns (14), Better Nether (10) and Incendium (9).
Medieval Buildings [Nether Edition] adds five more.
Three pack settings shape the Nether's structures.
YUNG's Better Nether Fortresses (Fabric) replaces the Vanilla fortress. Incendium moves the Vanilla Nether complexes to a spacing of 16 and a separation of 8, where Vanilla uses 27 and 4, and keeps an eight-chunk exclusion zone around its larger structures. The Repurposed Structures Nether stronghold is switched off.
Ores and materials#
Better Nether Remastered adds cincinnasite, Nether lapis, Nether redstone and Nether ruby ores. Ecologics adds Nether gold veins, and Incendium rewrites the Vanilla Nether ore features for gold, quartz, ancient debris, magma, gravel, soul sand and blackstone. The quest The Air Burns asks for cincinnasite ingots, rubies and four netherite scrap.
Creatures and bosses#
The Nether draws its creatures from several mods. Better Nether Remastered adds six, including the Naga, Skull, Flying Pig and Firefly, and Eternal Nether adds eight, such as the Wither Skeleton Knight and the Piglin Hunter. Cataclysm adds the Ignited Revenant and the Ignited Berserker. Clutter adds newts, butterflies and the Ember Tortoise, and Tide adds Nether fish.
| Boss | Tier | Where or how | HP | Main drops |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Nether Gauntlet | Boss bar | Sealed blackstone arena in any Nether biome | 250 (config) | Blazing Eye from the arena chest; ancient debris |
| Ignis | Boss bar | Burning Arena in nether wastes; Altar of Fire and Burning Ashes | 450 | Ignitium ingot, music disc |
| Netherite Monstrosity | Boss bar | Soul Forge in four Nether biomes | 600 | Infernal forge, lava power cell, monstrous horn |
| Blackstone Golem | Boss bar | Ritual with a chiseled polished blackstone holder | 600 | Blackstone Golem Heart, gilded netherite fragment, netherite scrap |
| Wither | Boss bar | Summoned anywhere | 300 | Nether Star, Wither Eye |
| Wildfire | Mini-boss | Citadel in Nether biomes | 120 | Wildfire crown fragment |
| Piglin Beast | Mini-boss | One in 30 when mining gold ore; one in 7 when many piglins die | 80 | Piglin flag, gold ingot, netherite scrap |
| Soul Reaper | Mini-boss | Soul sand valley, rides a Nightmare | 120 | Bone, coal, Wither skeleton skull |
| Ignited Revenant | Mini-boss | Burning Arena | - | Burning Ashes |
The Nether Gauntlet comes from
Bosses of Mass Destruction. Its arena chest holds the Blazing Eye, and it leaves ancient debris when it dies. Ignis, the Netherite Monstrosity and the Ignited Revenant come from
L_Ender's Cataclysm, which runs through
Sporran. Their HP is the code default. Cataclysm's HP multipliers are all 1.0, and its Nether bosses ignore the mob-griefing rule.
AdventureZ supplies the Blackstone Golem, Piglin Beast and Soul Reaper, and
Friends&Foes (Fabric/Quilt) the Wildfire. See Bosses of Mass Destruction, L_Ender's Cataclysm Bosses and Other Bosses & Mini-Bosses for the fights.
End Remastered eyes from the Nether#
The Nether holds three of the 16 eyes that open the End portal. The Nether Eye is rare and comes from Nether fortress chests, with a 30 % chance. The Cursed Eye is common and sits in the bastion treasure room, with a 70 % chance. The Wither Eye is epic and comes from killing the Wither, with two rolls at 90 % each. The portal needs any 12 of the 16 eyes. See The End Portal & the 16 Eyes for the other thirteen.
Dangers and what to bring#
The Gauntlet, the Wither, the Blackstone Golem, the Soul Reaper and the Piglin Beast are covered by Boss Ultimatum. Cataclysm's bosses are not. Under that rule, a boss that has killed three players heals back up to 50 % of its maximum health each time it kills another one. Only players the boss kills itself count.
If you die, a grave stores your items and XP. In the Nether the grave sits on soul soil, and graves are never placed below Y 3. The quest reward What to Carry In is a choice between 16 cooked beef, two flint and steel and eight obsidian. Wild waystones also generate in the Nether, so you can find a waystone to travel back from.
In the quest book#
Part 5, The Burning Road, covers the Nether in two chapters and 31 quests. The Air Burns has 17 quests: build the portal, explore Incendium and Better Nether structures and biomes, kill ten blazes and 50 mobs, and craft with cincinnasite and rubies. Forge and Gauntlet has 14 quests. You kill the Wither, the Blackstone Golem and the Nether Gauntlet and finish by forging a runic weapon. Its last quest, A Blade Worth the Trip, opens Part 6.
Rewards grow with the work. The Air Burns pays 23 XP levels and one ember across the chapter, and its capstone is a Lamplighter's Cache with 5 levels. Forge and Gauntlet pays 36 XP levels and three embers, with Deep Road Cache rolls and a diamond for the Wither, the Blackstone Golem and the Gauntlet. See Rewards, Loot Caches & Choice Kits for what the caches hold.
