Dimensions
The Twilight Forest
The Twilight Forest is a Fabric dimension reached by throwing a diamond into a pool of water. It has 22 biomes, 20 structures, 58 mob types and eight bosses, and the quest book has no chapter for it.
The Twilight Forest is a forest dimension where the time of day never changes. You open it by throwing a diamond into a pool of water ringed with plants. It comes from The Twilight Forest 4.8.754, a native Fabric port, so it does not use Sporran. The quest book has no quests for it, which makes this page the main guide. It belongs to the Dimensions overview.

Getting there#
The portal has no frame. You build it from three ingredients that the mod defines as block and item tags:
- A pool of water. The fluid must be
minecraft:water. - Plants around it. Any block in the mod's portal decoration tag, such as flowers, counts as the decoration.
- A solid edge. The pool sits on dirt-type blocks, farmland or path blocks.
- A diamond. Throw it into the pool to open the portal.
The pack changes very little about the portal. The settings below are what the pack uses.
| Setting | Pack value | What it means for you |

portalUnlockedByAdvancement | empty | No advancement is needed to open the portal |

How the Forest is built#
The Twilight Forest has its own dimension type and a biome source that lays its 22 biomes out on a grid. Its structure spacing comes from Cristel Lib, and every value equals the mod's own default.
TickMender also speeds up the Forest's spawn-list lookup, which changes performance but not gameplay.
What you find#
Biomes#
The Twilight Forest has 22 biomes, all from the mod. Nineteen of them have spawn lists. The boss structure data names many of them: the clearing, forest, dense forest, firefly forest, mushroom forests, oak savannah and spooky forest, plus swamp, fire swamp, dark forest, snowy forest and glacier biomes.
Structures#
A world can place 20 structures here. The mod defines 21, but no structure set places the mushroom tower, so the pack does not count it. Eight of the structures hold a boss: the Naga Courtyard, Lich Tower, Labyrinth, Hydra Lair, Knight Stronghold, Dark Tower, Yeti Cave and Aurora Palace. The table below lists them.
Materials#
The Twilight Forest adds the legacy Vanilla ore set and oreberry bushes. The bosses drop their own materials, from naga scales to knightmetal and carminite. The pack disables one uncrafting recipe, giant log to oak planks.
Creatures and bosses#
The mod registers 58 mob types: 41 hostile, 9 passive and 8 bosses. The hostile group includes the tamed Loyal Zombie and the Lich Minion. Examples are the Bighorn Sheep, Boar, Deer, Redcap, Kobold, Troll, Wraith, Yeti, Hedge Spider, Fire Beetle and Minotaur. Nineteen of the 22 biomes have spawn lists, for example the swamp, dark forest, snowy forest, glacier and underground. Dungeon mobs spawn from the structures instead. Vanilla mobs such as zombies, skeletons, spiders, creepers, witches, endermen, slimes, bats, wolves and chickens are also mixed into the spawn lists.
The eight bosses form a chain. Each structure checks an advancement, so you cannot skip ahead.
| Boss | Structure (biome) | Needs | HP | Main drops |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Naga | Naga Courtyard (clearing and forests) | - | 120 | Naga scale, trophy |
| Twilight Lich | Lich Tower (same biomes) | Naga | 100 | Scepters, golden armor and sword, ender pearl |
| Minoshroom | Labyrinth (swamp) | Lich | 120 | Diamond minotaur axe, meef stroganoff |
| Hydra | Hydra Lair (fire swamp) | Labyrinth | 360 | Hydra chop, fiery blood |
| Knight Phantom | Knight Stronghold (dark forest) | Trophy pedestal | 35 each | Knightmetal tools, phantom armor |
| Ur-Ghast | Dark Tower (dark forest center) | Knight Phantoms | 250 | Carminite, fiery tears |
| Alpha Yeti | Yeti Cave (snowy forest) | Lich | 200 | Alpha yeti fur, ice bomb |
| Snow Queen | Aurora Palace (glacier) | Yeti | 200 | Seeker bow, triple bow |
The boss order#
The chain is not a straight line. The Naga comes first and the Lich second. After the Lich the route splits into two branches: Minoshroom and then the Hydra, or the Alpha Yeti and then the Snow Queen. The Knight Phantoms start from a trophy pedestal, and the Ur-Ghast comes after them. You can work on the two Lich branches in either order.
Drops#
The Naga drops scales and a trophy. The Lich drops the twilight, lifedrain, zombie and fortification scepters, golden armor and a golden sword, an ender pearl and a trophy. Minoshroom drops the diamond minotaur axe and meef stroganoff. The Hydra drops hydra chop and fiery blood. The Knight Phantoms drop knightmetal tools and the phantom helmet and chestplate. The Ur-Ghast drops carminite and fiery tears, the Alpha Yeti drops fur and an ice bomb, and the Snow Queen drops the seeker bow and the triple bow. Most of the bosses also drop a trophy.
The Knight Phantom is a group fight, not one monster. The pack's multiplayer fight adjuster is set to NONE. Boss Ultimatum does not cover the Twilight Forest bosses. The full fights are on Twilight Forest Bosses.
Dangers and what to bring#
Beds work here but respawn anchors do not, so sleep to set your spawn. If you die, a grave stores your items and XP, and in dimensions other than the Overworld, Nether and End it is never placed below Y 3. Wild waystones do not generate in the Twilight Forest, so carry a way home or build a waystone yourself.
The Hydra has the most health of the eight bosses, 360 HP, and the Knight Phantoms come as a group of several, so bring gear for a long fight.
In the quest book#
None. The quest book has no chapter, quest or task that names the Twilight Forest. The book does not require the dimension, so you can visit it at any time. The Twilight Forest is not part of the 440 quests in 27 chapters.
