Twilight Forest Bosses
The eight boss-bar bosses of the Twilight Forest in Nytheria in the order the mod unlocks them: Naga, Lich, Minoshroom, Hydra, Knight Phantoms, Ur-Ghast, Alpha Yeti and Snow Queen, with HP, drops and the H key.
The Twilight Forest adds eight bosses with a boss bar and no mini-bosses. They form a ladder: each boss needs the advancement for an earlier one before its structure lets you in. This page belongs to the Bosses hub. The Twilight Forest is a native Fabric port and does not use Sporran. For the dimension itself, see The Twilight Forest.
The quest book has no Twilight Forest quests, and Boss Ultimatum does not cover these bosses. They are optional challenges that the pack does not track.
Getting there#
You open the Twilight Forest portal with a pool of water with plants around it. The pool's edge must be made of dirt-type blocks, farmland or path. Throw a diamond into the pool to light it. The pack does not lock the portal behind an advancement and does not send new players there.
Beds work in the Twilight Forest and respawn anchors do not, so sleep to set your spawn there. The dimension has a fixed time of 13000 ticks, a lowest level of Y -32 and a height of 288 blocks.
At a glance#
HP is the mod's built-in value ("code"). The pack has no HP config for the Twilight Forest. The pack sets the multiplayer fight adjuster to NONE, so the mod's option that adds health per player is not in use.
| Boss | Structure | Biome | Needs | HP (code) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Naga | Naga Courtyard | Forest-type biomes | - | 120 |
| Twilight Lich | Lich Tower | Forest-type biomes | Naga advancement | 100 |
| Minoshroom | Labyrinth | Swamp | Lich advancement | 120 |
| Hydra | Hydra Lair | Fire swamp | Labyrinth advancement | 360 |
| Knight Phantom | Knight Stronghold | Dark forest | Trophy Pedestal advancement | 35 each |
| Ur-Ghast | Dark Tower | Dark forest, centre | Knights advancement | 250 |
| Alpha Yeti | Yeti Cave | Snowy forest | Lich advancement | 200 |
| Snow Queen | Aurora Palace | Glacier | Yeti advancement | 200 |
The order of the fights#
Each structure checks the advancement of the boss before it (the structure's advancements_required). In plain terms:
- Naga needs nothing. It is the entry point.
- Twilight Lich needs the Naga's advancement.
- After the Lich, the path splits. Minoshroom (Labyrinth) comes next, and Alpha Yeti also needs only the Lich.
- Hydra needs the Labyrinth advancement, which follows Minoshroom.
- Knight Phantoms need the Trophy Pedestal advancement.
- Ur-Ghast needs the Knights' advancement.
- Snow Queen needs the Yeti's advancement.
So you can do the snow branch (Yeti, then Snow Queen) before or after the swamp and dark-forest branch, as long as the Lich is done.
Naga#
The Naga has 120 HP and is the first Twilight Forest boss.
Where and how to start the fight#
Its structure, the Naga Courtyard, generates in the clearing, forest, dense forest, firefly forest, mushroom forest, oak savannah and spooky forest biomes. It needs no earlier advancement.
The fight#
The facts give 120 HP and nothing about its behaviour.
Drops#
It drops Naga scales and a Naga trophy.
Twilight Lich#
The Twilight Lich has 100 HP. It is not the same boss as the Night Lich of Bosses of Mass Destruction.
Where and how to start the fight#
The Lich Tower generates in the same biomes as the Naga Courtyard, and its entrance needs the Naga's advancement.
Drops#
It drops scepters (Twilight, Lifedrain, Zombie and Fortification), golden armor and a golden sword, an ender pearl and a trophy.
Minoshroom#
Minoshroom has 120 HP and guards the Labyrinth.
Where and how to start the fight#
The Labyrinth generates in the swamp biome. It needs the Lich's advancement.
Drops#
It drops a diamond minotaur axe, Meef Stroganoff and a trophy.
Hydra#
The Hydra has 360 HP, the most of the eight Twilight Forest bosses.
Where and how to start the fight#
The Hydra Lair generates in the fire swamp. It needs the Labyrinth advancement.
Drops#
It drops hydra chop, fiery blood and a trophy.
Knight Phantoms#
The Knight Phantom fight is a group fight. Each phantom has 35 HP, and the facts do not give the number of phantoms.
Where and how to start the fight#
The Knight Stronghold generates in the dark forest. It needs the Trophy Pedestal advancement.
Drops#
The phantoms drop knightmetal tools and phantom helmet and chestplate pieces.
Ur-Ghast#
The Ur-Ghast has 250 HP and lives in the Dark Tower.
Where and how to start the fight#

Alpha Yeti#
The Alpha Yeti has 200 HP and lives in a cave in the snowy forest.
Where and how to start the fight#
The Yeti Cave generates in the snowy forest. It needs only the Lich's advancement, so you can come here before the Labyrinth.

Snow Queen#
The Snow Queen has 200 HP and rules the glacier.
Where and how to start the fight#
The Aurora Palace generates in the glacier biome. It needs the Yeti's advancement.
Drops#
She drops a seeker bow, a triple bow and a trophy.
A suggested route#
This route follows the unlock rules above. It is a suggestion, not a rule.
- Light the portal and find a Naga Courtyard. Beat the Naga.
- Find a Lich Tower and beat the Twilight Lich. This opens two branches at once.
- Take the snow branch when you want a quick second win: the Alpha Yeti, then the Snow Queen.
- Take the swamp branch for the longer ladder: Minoshroom, then the Hydra (the highest HP of the eight at 360), then the Knight Phantoms in the dark forest, and finally the Ur-Ghast.
No quest gate stands in your way. The pack does not lock the portal behind an advancement, and no quest chapter waits for the Twilight Forest, so you can visit it at any point in your game. For structures in general, see Structures and dungeons.
What else the forest holds#
The bosses are only part of the dimension. The Twilight Forest adds 22 biomes and 20 placeable structures to the pack (21 structure definitions; the Mushroom Tower has no structure set, so it does not generate). It also adds 58 mob types, of which 8 are the bosses above and 41 are hostile. The pack's wild waystones do not generate here; they only appear in the Overworld, the Nether and the End.
Seven of the eight bosses leave a trophy. Only the Knight Phantoms drop no trophy in the facts; they drop tools and armor pieces instead.
Portal notes#
The portal can only be built where the pack's config allows it. originDimension is the Overworld and allowPortalsInOtherDimensions is false. Whether a portal can be lit in the Nether, the End or another modded dimension was not tested.
In the quest book#
None of the eight fights is a quest. No chapter, quest or task in the book names the Twilight Forest, its structures or its bosses. That also means no gate quest depends on them, and the fights give no quest rewards. The drops above are your only reward. If you want a boss-hunting list inside the book, see Titans of Nytheria in Part 10: The Last Fires; it covers bosses from other mods.
Preparation#
- Ability key. The Twilight Forest has four key actions in the default pack, and all four sit on H, the shared ability key: Zoom With Goggles, See Red Thread with Goggles, Swap Hotbar and Cycle Item Display's Stored Maps. Hold H to open the Polybind wheel and pick one. Tapping repeats your last pick. See Controls.
- No Boss Ultimatum. Repeated deaths do not heal these bosses. See Boss Ultimatum for the bosses it covers.
- Spawn point. Beds work here. Set your spawn before a long trip; see Death, graves and respawning.
- Totem. A Totem of Undying works from an accessory slot with
Charm of Undying (Fabric/Forge/Quilt).
Notes#
- The unfinished boss. The mod's boss list also holds
twilightforest:plateau_boss, linked to the final castle on the plateau. It has no name, no spawn egg and an empty loot table. The wiki treats it as an unfinished placeholder and does not count it. - Group fight. The facts do not say how many Knight Phantoms take part in the fight, only that each has 35 HP.
- Not in the quest book. Nothing in the quest book asks for these bosses, so the fights have no rewards beyond their drops.
